Interior Ministry processes over 200,000 visa applications through Oct.

Amman, Oct. 12 (Petra) - The Ministry of Interior released on Monday its key performance indicators on foreign affairs and investment for the period spanning January 1 through October 1, 2026.

During the nine-month period, the ministry processed 207,173 visa applications of various types, including entry permits for tourism, business visits, medical treatment, study, work, transit, investment, and return permits.

Additionally, 56,734 applications were registered for annual residency permits covering employment, investment, bank deposits, study, and family reunification.

The ministry’s investment pathway saw notable participation, with 100 foreign investors granted Jordanian citizenship under national investment incentives.

The ministry also processed tourist approvals for 154,815 Syrian nationals entering through the Jaber Border Crossing for temporary stays. This total included 144,247 arrivals directly from Syria and 10,568 holding European or American travel documents.

On the regulatory and enforcement front, the ministry issued deportation orders for 17,138 foreign nationals found in violation of Jordanian labor and residency laws during the same time-frame.

The Ministry of Interior continues to enhance its digital portal (https://eservices.moi.gov.jo/) to facilitate visa issuing and residency renewals.

Officials stated that service digitization remains central to simplifying administrative processes for foreign nationals while fostering a favorable environment for foreign direct investment.
